Important Dates
4/1/2020 COVID 19 UPDATE:

Good morning!

We hope that you and our students are well. The Governor extended school closures through April 30th, instating a "remote learning" plan into place through that date. Please understand that date could be extended and this is a fluid situation.

This week, teachers are preparing remote learning plans for your student. They will be reaching out to your student during this time and through April 6th and 7th. Please ask your student to check his or her school email daily. If they cannot be reached that way, teachers will be contacting your student via phone.

Most teachers will be setting up online learning for students who have internet access. They will be able to complete their work through various methods, via email, google classroom, and other methods that each teacher will explain to your student.

If your student does not have internet access during this time, Murphysboro High School will allow parents or students to come to the school April 6th, April 7th, and April 14th from 9 AM until 6PM. We will have a sanitary method of accessing their course materials quickly and with social distance. If your student does not have access to internet, or access to transportation to come to the school to get materials, please call 687-2336 and leave your student's name, phone number, and address, and state that you would like the materials mailed home.

Administration will be at the school those three days to assist when any remote learning questions you may have.

Seniors: The State of Illinois has not released guidance as of yet regarding graduation, in the situation that this extends through the end of May. Mr. Ellermeyer will be informing all seniors and their parents of any updates regarding graduation as he receives them. Please be patient. Our hearts hurt for you at this time, as you have lost your senior spring season up to this point. We will do everything we can to try and create some type of ceremony that you can cherish as a memory and that recognizes all of the great things you have accomplished the last four years. We miss you and wanted to be able to enjoy this spring season of your senior year, as well. We are so proud of you and we hope that you all are coping through this situation.

If you have any questions, feel free to email Mr. Ellermeyer at cellermeyer@mhs.org.
