Scholarship Information 

  1. Please complete the MHS General Scholarship Application   (available 3/1/22) This application will determine your eligibility for certain local scholarships (local scholarship with their own applications are listed below). YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF YOU DO NOT APPLY. Please check with the counseling office if you have questions.
  2. Scholarships on this page are listed in order of due date. We update regularly, please continue to check for new scholarships.
  3. In addition to the scholarships listed below, we encourage you to check with your employer, parents' employers, your church & other community organizations.
  4. Links to national scholarship sites are on the bottom of the page. 
  5. Apply for scholarships within the college/university you plan to attend. These are listed on the 'Scholarship' section and sometimes the 'Foundation' section of a university's website.  
  6. As you become aware of any scholarship you've received, please inform your counselor. We want to make sure that you are invited and properly recognized at this year's Awards Night

Rotary International District 6510 Foundation - April 1, 2022 - Two scholarships to an accredited College or Trade School to two high School seniors residing in Rotary District 6510.  For more information and the selection criteria please click here

Kiwanis Club of Murphysboro Key Club Scholarship - April 1, 2022Scholarship presented to two Key Club members of Murphysboro High School.  For more information and the application click here

St Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship - April 1, 2022- Scholarship for students who are interested in pursuing a career in medical/health occupation.  For more information and the application please click here.

Save Abandoned Babies Foundation - April 2, 2022 - Award winners will receive a $1000 scholarship to their college or trade school of choice.  Student must be eligible for high school graduation or passed the GED in 2022 and will be attending college or trade school in the fall of 2022.  For more information and the application please click here.

Zeta Phi Beta 2022 Arnolia Boone Memorial Scholarship Award - April 6, 2022 - $500  to female graduate in Jackson county. Application available here or the MHS Guidance Office.

Murphysboro Masonic Lodge #498 David Bryce Jacquot Scholarship Program - April 14, 2022 - Recipients will receive a one-time $500.00 scholarship from the Murphysboro Masonic Lodge #498.  For more information and the application, click here.

Murphysboro Education Association of Teachers - April 14, 2022 - Scholarships available for students interested in an educational career. For more information and application click here.

June Bug Scholarship April 15, 2022 Scholarship in memory of Catheryn June Freeman, to honor her life and raise awareness about dementia.  June had a love and talent for art.  Applicant must be a high school senior and submit a form of art.  For more information please click here

Leah Marie Reed Memorial Scholarship - April 15, 2022 - This scholarship is set up to benefit and reward those students that actively participated in community, music (band and choir), scholastic and school activities. You will receive a total of $2,000.00 if you maintain good standing status at the school you attend. Your essay must be printed, not handwritten. Damas Latinas Scholarship - April 20, 2022 - Damas Latinas is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 in Southern Illinois. It has created an Economic Fund Program: a scholarship with the purpose of promoting among high school students the value of education as well as the importance of studying the Spanish language. This year will be an offering of five $200.00 scholarships to the high school students that meet criteria. For more information and the application click here.

Jackson County Happy Homemakers - April 22, 2022 - These Scholarships and Tuition Awards are for outstanding Senior CTE Students, which are planning and preparing to attend a post-secondary institution where they will be continuing courses and training in one of the following CTE areas: Agriculture, Natural Resources, Construction/Architecture, Automotive/Transportation, Engineering/Electronics, Manufacturing, Welding, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Health Sciences, or Business Management/Finance/Marketing.  Please click here for more information and the application.

Greg Yank "Servant Leader" Scholarship - May 1, 2022 - Scholarships to an accredited College or Trade School.  Awards will be $2500.00 each.  Recipients will agree to have their awards publicized throughout Rotary International District 6510.  For more information and the application click here

Gamma Kappa omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  - May 1, 2022 - Awarding high school seniors with an academic scholarship to continue their education for the 2022-2023 school year.  For a full list of requirements and the application click here

Heartland Heating, Air & Plumbing Scholarship - May 2, 2022 - Graduating high school senior enrolling in a Trade of Technical two or four year college.  For more information and the application please click here. 

Kids' Chance of Illinois - May 30, 2022 - Kids’ Chance Inc. of Illinois was founded with the goal of awarding academic college scholarships to deserving children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job. For more information and the application please click here

Ben "Big Red" Arbeiter Memorial Agriculture scholarship - May 31, 2022 - High School graduate from an accredited high school in Jackson County.  Scholarships are given to those individuals who plan to pursue a career in or directly related to the agriculture industry.  For more information and the application please click here

PB& J Scholarship - May 31, 2022 - Annual scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.  For more information and the application please click here

Annual Meeting Scholarship - July 5, 2022 - Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association will hold a scholarship drawing on July 14th at 6 pm. Applications and proof of enrollment must be turned in by July 5th. The applicant must be enrolled, or have applied for enrollment, in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational school for the Fall 2022 term. Crosswalk Community Action Agency August 1, 2022 - Scholarships for Franklin, Williamson, Jefferson,  and Jackson county residents for summer and fall semesters.  For more information and the application please click here.   

Fall 2022 Scholarship - August 5, 2022 - Prince Law Firm in Marion IL is offering a scholarship for graduates attending a college or university in the Fall of 2022 and live in the following Southern Illinois counties. Clinton, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair, Bond, Jersey, Calhoun, Marion, Clay, Lawrence, Richard, Wayne, Edwards, Wabash, Franklin, Perry, Randolph, Jefferson, Washington, Union, Alexander, Pulaski, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Saline and White.
