October 30

Girl’s basketball tryouts will begin Monday (11/3) at 3:30 in the gym.

Students – don’t forget Friday there will be a costume contest with winners announced at the pep rally.  Signs are posted around the building with the rules and you can also ask your ELP teacher for the rules too.  Let’s have fun, but be appropriate!

Just a reminder to the sophomore class to keep fundraising.  Fundraiser forms are to be turned in to Ms. Kunz by November 4th.

The Class of 2015 is selling MHS koozies for $5.00.  See Ms. Ward, Tammy Mikulay or Melba Ziebler for purchase.

Fall Sports Awards will be on Wednesday, Nov 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  All fall athletes, families and fans are invited to attend free of charge.  

Winter Meet the Teams will be on Friday, November 14.  Presentations of teams will begin at 6:00 in the gym.

Any junior interested in paint the town for play offs see Mrs. O'Leary.

Our first game in the Regional Playoffs will be Saturday (11/1) at 1:00 pm.  Tickets are $5.00 for students and adults and will go on sale at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Herrin field.

Seniors – Don’t forget to sign out in the orange binder on the counter if you have a gold card and are leaving for lunch.

There is a Key Club meeting tonight (10/29). The agenda will include sign-ups for Friday's Trick or Treat for UNICEF. Also, greenery orders should be turned in at this time.

All Blood Drive applications must be turned in today (10/29).  We may accept sign-ups on Thursday at the Blood Drive, however, they will be on a work-in basis ONLY.  Also, please remember to bring a PHOTO ID if you plan to give blood.  The office can no longer print pictures.  Thank you for helping to save lives!

The Murphysboro High School "Crimson Express" completed their 25th Anniversary Competition season at Pinckneyville this past Saturday.   The Band received Best Percussion, Best Soloist and 1st Place in Class AA.  The Band received 1st place in their class in every competition entered this season.  Great job!

Are you the son or daughter of an Illinois Electric Cooperative member receiving electric service from the cooperative?  Are you the son or daughter of an Illinois Electric Cooperative employee?  If you answered YES to either of those questions, then we have a scholarship for you.  See your counselor for more information.  Deadline:  Dec. 31st"

The Elks Lodge will be awarding two different scholarships; The Most Valuable Student (Deadline: Dec. 5th) and the Elks Legacy (Deadline: Jan. 30th).  See your counselor for more information.
