9/30/2015

Key Club: We just got a request to help with next Tuesday's Community Day Out at Longfellow Park from 4:30-7. Anyone who can help should check in the Key Cub Office. We also still need help with Kiwanis Peanut Days this Saturday morning.

There are yearbooks for sale in Ms. Scott's classroom.  First come, first serve ($58).

Homecoming ticket sales will be on sale until Thursday during both lunches.  The price is $8.00.  All fees and fines must be paid before you may purchase a ticket.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The Class of 2018 is having a fundraiser at McAlister's this Thursday night from 5-8 pm. Come out and support your classmates.  Sophomores that signed up to work the McAlister's night, there is a mandatory meeting in Mrs.O'Dell's room today during ELP.

After school Plato is cancelled today.

The Class of 2018 is having a fundraiser night at McAlister's this Thursday night from 5-8 pm. Come out and support your classmates.  Sophomores that signed up to work the McAlister's night, there is a mandatory meeting in Mrs.O'Dell's room today during ELP. 

All Senior boy cheerleaders need to meet in the grass outside of the gym today during ELP.

All Junior and Senior Powder Puff cheerleaders meet in the auditorium tomorrow during ELP.  Check in with your ELP teacher first.

Seniors interested in JALC should get a pass for ELP today (Tuesday).  There will be a presentation on admissions, financial aid, & scholarships.

Seniors: Advisors from John A Logan College & SIU Carbondale will be available during 5th, 6th & 7th periods on Wednesday to help with your college applications.  Make sure to get a pass from Ms. Mikulay

There will be an important History Club meeting today after school in Mr. Martin's (B16) room. We will be shopping for Halloween decorations.

Attention all Beta members.  We have been asked to decorate Kroger’s window with homecoming theme.  There is a sign up on Ms. Goode’s board outside her room.  The shifts are from 6pm – 8pm on Monday and Tuesday next week.  We need 6 people per shift.

Key Club – Today is the very last day to either pay dues or make arrangements with Mr. Hall for late payment.  The Roster will be finalized then.

Make-up picture day is today beginning at 7:30, in the Library.  Faculty/staff need to have their picture taken at this time for the yearbook.

Students: Conduct in the library before school and during lunch is unacceptable.  It is too loud. The library is NOT an extension of the cafeteria. Students who continue to behave inappropriately will lose library privileges. Also, only student workers are to be behind the circulation desk.

This Friday, we will be the WSIL News Channel 3 "Sack Hunger" football game of the week.  Everyone attending the game is encouraged to bring a sack of non-perishable food items to donate to the Murphysboro Food Pantry.  We will be competing against the Massac County fans to see which school can contribute the most.  The school raising the most items for their pantry will also receive a $500 gift card from Black Diamond Harley Davidson to purchase more supplies. Please bring items and encourage anyone coming to the game to also participate.

MHS is proud to announce that the following students have made the Varsity Scholar Bowl team: Grant Berger, Zach Berger, Alex Bryant, James Cross, Bradley Evans, Cole Fletcher, WIlliam Lynch, Sophie McCormick, Karum Qasem, Chloe Parr, Michael Satterlee, David Szoke, Connor Tincher, Colin Wisinski, and Tristan Yokom.  Our first practice will be this Friday after school in Ms. Goode's room.  If you are a junior or senior and missed try-outs, come to our first practice and talk to Ms. Goode.  We're looking forward to another winning season!!!  

The MHS Beta Club has elected our new officers for this school year.  Please congratulate President David Szoke, Vice President Colin Wisinski, and Secretary Caitlyn Clutts.  If you missed the September meeting, talk to an officer to find out what you missed.
