  1. Please complete the MHS General Scholarship Application   (available 3/1/24) This application will determine your eligibility for certain local scholarships (local scholarship with their own applications are listed below). YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF YOU DO NOT APPLY. Please check with the counseling office if you have questions.
  2. Scholarships on this page are listed in order of due date. We update regularly, please continue to check for new scholarships.
  3. In addition to the scholarships listed below, we encourage you to check with your employer, parents' employers, your church & other community organizations.
  4. Links to national scholarship sites are on the bottom of the page. 
  5. Apply for scholarships within the college/university you plan to attend. These are listed on the 'Scholarship' section and sometimes the 'Foundation' section of a university's website.  
  6. As you become aware of any scholarship you've received, please inform your counselor. We want to make sure that you are invited and properly recognized at this year's Awards Night

Hagan Scholarship Foundation - December 1, 2023 - This scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, providing recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship, good for up to 4 additional semesters. SEMO President's Scholarship - December 1, 2023This scholarship is given to five top applicants each year and starts at $10,000, growing to a total of $43,000 over four years. Students with a 3.9 GPA with no ACT or SAT score, or a 3.75 GPA with a 31 ACT/1390 SAT are eligible to apply. Select applicants will be invited to interview for the scholarship in the spring. Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperative Memorial Scholarship - December 31,  2023 - 10 scholarships are awarded to high school students who are the child of an Illinois electric cooperative member receiving service from the coop. 5 are reserved for high school students enrolling full-time at a two or four year Illinois community college who are the child of Illinois electric coop members, employees or directors. 1 scholarship, the Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a high school student who is the child of an Illinois electric coop employee or director. 1 scholarship, the LaVern and Nola McEntire Lineworker's Scholarship is awarded to a student to attend the lineworker's school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College, this deadline is April 30, 2024. Fehr Graham Scholarship - January 1, 2024 - This scholarship is available for high school seniors who live within a 50 mile radius of any of their 12 offices in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. Students interested in furthering their education in science, technology, math and engineering are able to apply. Maps are available on the website to determine if you're eligible for this scholarship. For more information and the application, click here

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Annual Scholarship - March 1, 2024 - Eligible recipients are Illinois high school seniors graduating in the spring and entering an institution of higher education in the fall of 2024. The prize awarded to the overall winner is $1,000 per year for up to four years, with up to 11 additional awards of $1,000 and up to 12 second-place awards of $500. Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP) for Medical and Social Work - March 31, 2024 - This scholarship provides financial assistance to students receiving education or training in a direct/indirect health-care services discipline and assists in providing an adequate supply of such personnel for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 100% of tuition and required fees are paid, a monthly stipend amount of (currently) $1200 is paid directly to the participant and an additional annual stipend amount is issued to help cover books, paper, computer etc. For more information and the application, click here

Elks National Foundation - Legacy Awards - February 5, 2024 - The Legacy Awards program provides $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members. The ENF offers a total of 350 national awards. For more information and the application, click here

Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Scholarship (NROTC) - February 15, 2024 - Applicants must work with their recruiter/coordinator to ensure the application is complete and forwarded for consideration. Applicant must continue to check their application status on the website to ensure their application is being processed. For more information and the application, click here

Mensa's Health Minds Scholarship - March 18, 2024 - High school seniors from (home town in) the area covered by St. Louis Area Mensa. Applicants must be students in good academic standing with cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 who are currently enrolled in any accredited undergraduate two or four year institution with a declared major in any of the mental health related fields. high school seniors who have been admitted to any accredited two or four year institution who plan on pursuing one of these majors are also eligible. Majors include, but not limited to, psychology, counseling, social work and psychiatric nursing. For more information and the application, click here or pick up in Guidance. 

College Board Scholarship Drawing-Earn entries in monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing steps on BigFuture. Log in to your account, complete steps on your dashboard, and earn entries to win. One step completed = one entry in each monthly scholarship drawing. There are drawings starting January of your sophomore year until February of your senior year. Click here to enter.
