Local Scholarships

IEC Memorial Scholarship - A total of $40,000 in academic scholarships will be awarded to eligible high school seniors in Illinois. Scholarships are available to senior students through Egyptian Electric Cooperative and Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives. For more information click here. Deadline - December 31, 2024

Legacy Award (Elks Foundation Scholarship) - Any child or grandchild (including step) of a living Elk Member who joined before April 1 of 2022 is eligible to apply. You must be a high school senior. Click here for more details (There are A LOT!) Deadline - February 3, 2025

For Kids' Sake International Southern Illinois Scholarship - Southern Illinois graduates in Jackson, Williamson, and Union counties who plan to pursue a career in trade have the chance of being awarded $2,500. Other eligibility requirements include: lost one or both parents (due to death, incarceration, abandonment), not currently in the foster care system, and a GPA of 2.0 or above. SICF Southern 17 Scholarship - This scholarship is for graduating seniors from the 17 Southern Illinois counties that the Southern Illinois Community Foundation serves. Visit website here to see all requirements for this scholarship. Deadline - February 28, 2025

Illinois Elks Physical and Occupational Therapy Majors Scholarships - This scholarship is for anyone who is currently enrolled or planning to major in a Physical or Occupational Therapy field. More information is located on the website. Deadline - March 1, 2025

Illinois Elks Physical and Occupational Therapy Asst. Program - Any HS graduate planning to enroll as a full-time student in a physical or occupational therapist assistant program along with a few other qualifications is eligible for this scholarship. AORN Southern Illinois Scholarship - $500 will be awarded to a graduating high school senior entering the medical field. View the flier here. Deadline - March 31, 2025

MEA Scholarship - This scholarship ($500) will be awarded to a student who is majoring in Education after graduation. The form is in the Guidance Office. Deadline - April 4, 2025

National Scholarships

Hagan Scholarship Foundation - Nationwide need-based merit scholarship. Provides recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt free. More information here. Deadline - December 1, 2024

Golden Apple Scholars - The Golden Apple Scholars Program in Illinois is a teacher preparation and tuition assistance program for high schools seniors who plan to follow the education route. For more information click here.

First Amendment Freedoms Art & Essay Contest - Students are allowed one essay or piece of artwork for their entry. Apply online or by mail. For more information click here. Deadline - December 31, 2024

Built Ford Tough Scholarship - Supporting students in agriculture related fields, this is open to high school seniors attending trade school, a two-year, or four-year program. For more information click here. Deadline - January 11, 2025

College Here I Come Scholarship - Help fund one high school senior who is starting their higher education journey. Click here for more information. Deadline - January 31, 2025

HonorsGradU Scholarship - Design and work on community improvement project. Winners of this scholarship will receive $10,000.
